The Computer Operator IV supports Navy undersea range systems by managing servers, workstations, and networks. This role involves maintaining system security, installing and updating software, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing configuration management for range software and hardware.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide configuration management and technical support for range system software and hardware integration.
• Manage the functionality, performance, and security of multiple computer systems (Windows 10, Red Hat Enterprise 7.x/8.x).
• Administer physical and virtual servers, workstations, and networks using industry-standard tools.
• Perform system analysis and recommend hardware/software upgrades to keep systems current.
• Apply operating system and vendor software patches.
• Install new software, troubleshoot issues, set application permissions, and train users on basic functions.
• Provide daily user support for server and workstation services.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot physical/virtual hardware and network interfaces.
Requirements:
• Education: Associate degree (desired) with 2+ years of related experience.
• Certifications (required): CompTIA Security+ plus one or more of the following:
o Microsoft MCSA Windows (10, 2008, 2012, or 2016)
o CompTIA Linux+
o SUSE Certified Linux Administrator
• Clearance: Active Secret clearance with SSBI.
