Network Engineer
Country Intelligence Group is seeking a full-time Network Engineer to support our client at Fort Meade, MD. This position is critical to the design, deployment, and optimization of secure, high-performance network infrastructures in support of dynamic, mission-critical environments. The selected candidate will architect and manage end-to-end network solutions that reduce latency, maximize throughput, and ensure seamless system integration. This role involves hands-on LAN administration, advanced performance tuning, and real-time troubleshooting of complex systems operating in secure environments. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with system architects, cybersecurity personnel, and other engineers to capture performance metrics, translate them into actionable system requirements, and ensure alignment with operational objectives. This position demands a comprehensive understanding of modern network design principles, dataflow management, and secure system communication protocols.
Tasks Performed:
• Developing, operating, and managing networks required to operate in secure environments.
• Performing network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks.
• Analyzing design, specifications, and related documents.
• Performing general LAN administration.
• Optimizing end-to-end system performance and dataflow management.
• Conducting data captures to obtain network performance information.
• Minimizing network latency and maximizing data through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.
• Providing input to the design of the organization's network and mission architecture.
• Designing solutions, integrating, configuring, deploying, testing and providing ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces and methodologies.
• Configuring and optimizing the network to connect various front-end and back-end components.
• Gathering needed data to specify system/component performance and interface requirements.
Education, Experience and Qualifications:
• Minimum High School Diploma/GED with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering science, engineering management, or related discipline with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree in system engineering, computer science, information systems, engineering science, engineering management, or related discipline with 3 years of relevant experience.
• Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level I certification.
• Experience architecting and deploying secure, high-performance network solutions.
• Experience monitoring and optimizing dataflows to reduce latency and boost throughput.
• Experience translating performance metrics into actionable system requirements.
• Experience keeping LANs running smoothly with hands-on administration and troubleshooting.
• Experience optimizing complex systems for speed and reliability.
• Experience capturing and analyzing network performance data to drive improvements.
• Experience configuring and integrating front-end and back-end systems for seamless communication.
• Experience collaborating on mission-driven network designs and architecture.
• Experience in secure network design, configuration, and maintenance.
