Responsibilities

Role Summary:

STC is seeking an experienced model-based systems engineer to work with our customer's engineers, on-site, on a large-scale systems acquisition development project. The chosen candidate must be have strong communication skills and demonstrated initiative to execute tasks and deliver results, with a limited amount of managerial oversight. The candidate must be able to bridge the gap between unclassified work being done remotely by STC and the classified team on-site at the customer facility, ensuring that we maintaining excellence in our work product as we continue to refine system architectures that will drive development for this aquisition. Being able to guide and coach customer engineers on the "why" and "how" of good MBSE methodology will also be a key to succeeding in this role.

This will be an on-site position in the vicinity of the Navy Yard in Washington, DC, likely with the option for limited remote work.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Utilize model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools to define system architectures.
  • Derive, develop and manage system requirements throughout their lifecycle.
  • Identify program requirements, track performance metrics, and manage the systems engineering process.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of systems engineering efforts.
  • Perform requirements verification and compliance assessments to support major design reviews.

  • Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, navigate system modeling tools at an expert levek, and can lead development of behavioral, structural, and parametric models
  • Proactive individual who can quickly come up to speed on new technologies, assimilate updated customer provided information, and work collaboratively with system domain SMEs, peers, managers, and customers
  • Inquisitive and motivated, with sound Systems Engineering and SysML modeling capabilities

Qualifications

  • Bachelors in a technical field (Engineering, Computer Science, etc) and 8-10 years of experience (MS and 6-8 years; PhD and 3-5 years)
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with senior customers, keep all stakeholders informed, prioritize tasks, and vet priorities
  • Fluent in the concepts of MBSE, DE, Digital Threads, and Digital Transformation
    • Ability to speak effectively in front of a group to either coordinate and/or provide technical direction
  • Experience with the following:
    • Dassault Systemes Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo Enterprise Architect, and/or Magic Systems
    • SysML (UAF-ML experience desired)
    • OOSEM Methodology
  • Ability to (obtain and) maintain a Top Secret Clearance
  • Ability to commute to the vicinity of the Navy Yard in DC for daily onsite work

Equal Pay Act

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
