Position Objective: Provide services as a Data Manager in support of the overall functions of the Office of Chief Scientist - Integrated Research Facility (OCSIRF) and the Division of Intramural Research (DIR), within the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support of the Integrated Research Facility-Frederick (IRF) data management systems, in support of the IRF data management strategic plan.
- Develop and maintain workflows for the collection, annotation, structure, storage and dissemination of research data and repository information.
- Assist with developing and supporting complex data systems governing the IRF research programs.
- Provide support for the complete research data life cycle and in alignment with the IRF-Frederick Data Management strategic plan.
- Conduct periodic routine and/or unannounced audits of data systems to monitor for compliance with relevant data management requirements and practices or at the request of government leadership or safety teams.
- Assist with the developing and conducting trainings based on government requirements and as approved by the government on pertinent data management topics.
- Assist the IRF to adopt new initiatives such as data sharing, electronic lab notebooks, and multifactor authentication in a BSL-4 environment.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the field of science and/or IT/Data Management field with 5 years' experience.
- Previous experience with NIH data management requirements is required.
- Ability to pass and maintain a 5b (Public Trust) level background investigation.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous experience with IRF data management system preferred.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and pay close attention to detail.
- Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, or other equivalent software suites
