Summary
Be a part of a first-of-its-kind team utilizing DevSecOps technology to rapidly deliver capabilities to support a wide range of DoD missions in the heart of downtown San Antonio. You will be supporting the startup culture to transform the future and protect the security of the United States.
The Equipment and Data Center Manager will function as the Unit Software License Manager and manage and optimize the software licenses within the unit, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Software License Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that the team can effectively carry out its mission while maximizing the efficiency of software assets.
General Qualifications
• Experience with the Air Force Information Technology Asset Management Program or the equivalent from other DoD services.
• Proven track record of managing software procurement processes.
• DoD or Air Force experience preferred.
• High level of integrity and accountability.
• Active Top-Secret/SCI.
• Travel if required (local)

• Knowledge of various software licensing models, such as perpetual, subscription-based, and concurrent licenses.
• Knowledge of the software license lifecycle, from procurement and deployment to renewal or termination.
• Knowledge of various software vendors, products, and platforms commonly used within the Air Force or similar organizations.
• Knowledge of IT auditing procedures, including internal and external software licensing and compliance audits.
Skills
• Skill with software asset management tools and procedures.
• Skill with IT asset management tools and procedures.
• Skill with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Skill with time management to meet deadlines.
Tasks
• Responsible for maintaining software licenses per Air Force Manual (AFMAN) 17-1203.
• Serves as the unit-level focal point for managing the installation, coordination, and removal of software on IT assets.
• Generates requests for or provides validation of software to be installed or removed from unit systems.
• Arrange for the licensing and maintenance agreements of all software purchased or licensed to be transferred to the Government when directed.
• Maintain a government-approved Software Database for each network.
• Manage all software licenses owned by the organization.
• Coordinate all non-enterprise software acquisitions through the respective Base Software License Manager (BSLM) or equivalents before purchasing software.
• Coordinate all enterprise software acquisitions through the respective (BSLM) or equivalents before purchasing software.
• Establish accountability of Software as a Service (SaaS) licenses per BSLM request.
• Ensures unused or underutilized software licenses are identified to the BSLM (or equivalents) for redistribution or disposition.
• Perform annual audits of all computers and servers to ensure no illegal/unauthorized software is installed.
• Conduct annual and out-of-cycle inventories as directed.
• Ensure appropriate training is conducted for users to support unique software purchased or developed by organizations.
• Perform the duties as the unit’s Information Technology Equipment Custodian.
