Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a Director, Aeronautics Customer Engagement (CE) to oversee customer engagements: prioritization and execution of, which are relevant to the Aeronautics Systems sector.

Reporting to the Director Business Development Operations 2, Aeronautics Systems, this Director is responsible for establishing and coordinating customer engagements that have executive hosts from the CEO to managers to best represent the company and ensure joint equities are achieved.

The individual will Direct, plan and organize internal and external business-related functions, symposiums, conferences, program events, and VIP/customer briefings. Develops on-site and off-site plans and budgets associated with events. Investigates, coordinates, arranges and contracts logistics and services, manage and coordinate ground transportation, collaborate with communications, security, and facilities support, ensure international requirements are all complete (e.g. FVR), and have clarity on the needs of our programs, understand our key messages, and develop a plan to support company marketing and customer relations. Collaborates with the customer to ensure shared equities are considered (e.g. USAF RCO). Collaborates and leads the team, other NG functions, and other sectors, as well as our stakeholders and where applicable subcontractors orchestrating large scale events supporting highest level company executives, international dignitaries and government officials.

This Director will be responsible for the Customer Engagement (CE) team of professionals, managers and individual contributors, across our sites and leverage them to perform the engagements and ensure they are mentored, organized, guided, inspired, motivated, and encouraged with the result of excellent performance and a highly engaged team. The Director will have to balance their resources and use the team in the most effective manner that achieves all our deliverables.

This individual will orchestrate and coordinate high level customer interface with USG: military, national, state, and local government, industry leaders, and key stakeholders and influencers.

As part of the Sector Strategy and Business Development team, this Director must seamlessly collaborate with and support our Business Development organization and leadership engagement activities, demonstrating consistent impeccable judgment and embodiment of Northrop Grumman leadership behaviors.

This role is in Melbourne, FL or Palmdale, CA and requires up to 75% travel.

Responsibilities include:
  • Ensuring customer engagement activities are carried out in accordance with Government, customer, and Northrop Grumman policies, procedures and processes.
  • Rigorous and thorough communication with regular deliverables and progress reporting
  • Coordinating, integrating and synchronizing sector customer engagements with cross functional teams e.g. Communications, CO CRT, Division BD
  • Lead CE representative in C-ELT and S-ELT engagements to ensure agility and flexibility
  • Manage multi-site team ensuring tasks are completed for each engagement with adherence to a common process and visitor experience


Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent related experience) with 10+ years or Masters and 8+ years of experience working directly for or with Northrop Grumman programs, DoD acquisitions, operations, or policy, including senior level leadership responsibilities and management experience,
  • Strong understanding of strategy, business development methods and activities, enterprise process and business contacts within the organization to enable success,
  • Experience analyzing a broad range of issues and exercise strategic thinking to execute time critical deliverables
  • A high level of confidence, integrity and hands on approach to problem solving as well as a professional executive presence for interacting with and influencing senior management and executives internal and external to the company,
  • Strong judgment, decision-making skills, flexibility, agility, and political acumen.
  • Unswerving commitment and the ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communications skills, as well as project management, analytical, planning, presentation and human relations skills
  • Top Secret Security Clearance with SCI eligibility

  • Experience managing a geographically disparate team
  • Active TS/SCI clearance

Primary Level Salary Range: $141,000.00 - $244,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
