DevOps/Linux Engineer/Administrator
Location is McLean, VA.
The DevOps Administrator is responsible for the implementation, support, and maintenance of all aspects of the project’s infrastructure. Project infrastructure includes migrating hardware to the cloud, operating system updates, and networking resources (cloud and hardware.) Activities include but are not limited to:
* Create ansible scripts to automate creating new Amazon cloud infrastructure including interacting with many different services that AWS offers
* Understand, design, and build out features and services in AWS
* Monitoring health and capacity of system resources (Kibana, CloudAudit, VROPS, CloudWatch)
* Responding to reoccurring operations and maintenance activities (VM/Instance creation, Linux/Windows support, DNS Certificate support)
* Development and implementation of new hardware, cloud and software capabilities (Central Logging, Resource Monitoring and Notification, Dev/Op Automation)
* Managing hardware and software life-cycles and maintaining applicable vendor relationships (end-of life tracking, licenses and support contracts)
* Participating in and conducting applicable accreditation support (scans, automation, auditing)
* Providing general system administration guidance and support (disk management, account creation, design reviews)
* Creating and maintain project level infrastructure standards and conventions (naming conventions, SOPs)
Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical, or Computer Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
- 8 to 10 years of related system administration experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
This Infrastructure team member must currently be a Linux system administrator proficient with one or more scripting tools (Ansible, Python, PowerShell, Shell scripting) and have direct experience in one or more of the following:
NetApp
- Working knowledge of NetApp storage architecture.
- Performing upgrades and product updates as appropriate.
- Direct experience with Data on Tap and Command Line interface.
AWS/C2S
- Familiarity and firsthand knowledge of our customer’s AWS/C2S environment.
Server/Resource Automation
- Experience with automations tools such as Puppet and Ansible (preferably Ansible)
- Knowledge and experience with Cloud Formation and C2S Automation technics.
Hardware/Networking Experiences
- Direct experience with HP’s Synergy
- Ability to maintain and implement networking updates and configuration.
- Knowledge and experience of Cisco networking and configuration.
