Overview
We are seeking an Embedded Cyber Software Developer to support cybersecurity initiatives in secure boot, firmware security, and hardware root of trust. The role involves developing and configuring boot loaders, implementing encryption and hashing algorithms, managing secure firmware updates, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to integrate robust security features across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, sign, and configure secure boot loaders (UEFI, EFI, and custom).
Lead secure boot integration, vendor coordination, and documentation/training.
Implement and test firmware security features including encryption, hashing, and recovery mechanisms.
Develop and maintain user space APIs for encryption/hash functions.
Configure and validate hardware root of trust (e.g., fuse programming, PolarFire FPGA features).
Manage firmware update processes and lifecycle security.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, firmware, hardware, and software teams.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical/Computer Engineering.
7+ years in secure boot, firmware security, or embedded systems development.
Hands-on experience with UEFI Secure Boot, firmware encryption, hashing, and root of trust.
Strong coding skills in C, C++, Python, Bash.
Experience with PolarFire FPGA or similar platforms preferred.
Knowledge of safety-critical standards (DO-178C, ISO 26262) a plus.
