Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes managing and executing of critical support services, information management, and long-range strategic planning for military units at the battalion level or higher; assessing the progress and effectiveness of the organization in relation to program objectives, budgetary limitations, schedules and command priorities.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS13).

- Serve as the Deputy Chief of Staff with responsibility to assist in the execution of all matters pertaining to Joint Pacific Multinational Readiness Center (JPMRC).
- Responsible for the management and execution of critical support services, information management, and long-range strategic planning.
- Oversee critical support services such as, risk management, and special staff functions within the command.
- Act on behalf of the Commander, Operations Group (COG) for delegated responsibilities and has total authority to act on any internal command issue in his absence
- Analyze and evaluate major programs of high visibility by performing studies with very broad and extensive scopes.
- Identify and develop ways to resolve problems and cope with issues which directly affect accomplishment of JPMRC program goals.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a "Secret" security clearance for the duration of employment.
- This position has been designated "Mission Essential". In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- TDY Travel required up to approximately 25 - 50% of the total duty time.
- During rotational exercises, the employee is required to work a flexible duty hours which includes - weekends, holidays, and shift work consistent of 10-12 hours days for an extended 2-week period.

Deployments are to other training areas. In the event of a deployment, the employee must continue to perform assigned duties to support the mission requirements until relieved by proper authority, or the mission is complete. The employee may be required to live and work in tents or shelters while on deployment.
