Job Summary:

B&A is looking for an IT Support Specialist to join a contract with a federal government client in support of an important mission. We are seeking a skilled IT Support Specialist to deliver high-quality technical support services across enterprise environments. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving end-user issues, planning and improving support processes, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity best practices. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, hands-on technical expertise, and the ability to provide both direct user assistance and technical training.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of hardware, software, and network systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in response to customer-reported incidents, ensuring timely resolution and minimal downtime.
  • Assist users with technical issues and deliver end-user training sessions and support documentation.
  • Plan and analyze IT support workflows, identifying areas for efficiency improvements.
  • Research and report trends in recurring problems to recommend preventive solutions.
  • Develop and maintain problem tracking databases for support incidents and resolutions.
  • Perform system backup and recovery operations to maintain data integrity and availability.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and trade-off analyses to support IT decisions and business cases.
  • Ensure rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in all IT support activities.
  • Support enterprise applications, including potential assistance with eProcurement systems.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless IT operations and support.

Education and Experience:
  • Six (6) years of progressive experience in the field of Information Processing.
  • At least three (3) years specialized experience with a range of hardware/software solutions.
  • At least two (2) years of hands-on experience in installing, diagnosing, and training users on hardware/software.
  • Bachelor's degree in IT or a related field.

Required Skills:
  • Proficiency with Windows and/or macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and basic network troubleshooting.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and provide support in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, user account management, and identity/access controls.
  • Exposure to cloud environments (Microsoft 365, Azure, AWS) and remote support tools.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Experience supporting federal government IT environments or other large, complex organizations.

Security Clearance
  • Active Secret clearance.
