Description: NSI requires a Engineer to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center Program Office. The Engineer will design and develop advanced mechanical systems and components for UUV/UAV platforms, with a focus on sensor integration, robotics, and prototyping. Contribute to software development efforts, including control, navigation, and data acquisition, using C/C++, Embedded C, Python, ROS, and Linux. Perform detailed mechanical design and analysis using SolidWorks, FEA, and GD&T to ensure structural integrity and ability to manufacture. Support electronics integration, including PCB component selection, soldering, and hardware troubleshooting. Conduct data analysis and apply principles of fluid dynamics and linear optimization to support system modeling and performance improvements. Collaborate across disciplines to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems into cohesive designs. Participate in testing, validation, and iterative prototyping to refine performance and reliability.
Location: Panama City Beach, FL
Education: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
Experience: At least five (5) years of professional experience in mechanical design, robotics, and systems integration. Expertise in UUV/UAV sensor development, prototyping, and software development. Strong background in SolidWorks, FEA, and GD&T. Hands-on experience with PCB components and soldering. Proficiency in robotics, data analysis, fluid dynamics, and linear optimization techniques.
Security Clearance: Secret Clearance is required. Must be a U.S. citizen.
