Penetration Tester

The Opportunity:

Are you motivated by the head-to-head challenge of gaining access to well protected application, systems, and networks? As a Penetration Tester, you emulate the adversaries' tactics, techniques, and procedures ( TTPs ) to uncover weaknesses in enterprise systems and guide mitigation efforts for mission owners. At Booz Allen, you can apply your vulnerability analysis, network mapping, exploitation, defensive, and IT logging process experience to execute offensive cybersecurity that improve our client's overall security posture and resilience against real-world activities.

You'll work closely with Security Operations Center ( SOC ) analysts, engineers, and incident resp ond ers to validate defensive capabilities and provide feedback. You'll develop and maintain custom scripts, tools, and techniques for penetration testing and automation. You'll also produce detailed findings reports, including technical risk descriptions, exploitation steps, and prioritized remediation guidance to stakeholders. You'll use your experience to plan and c ond uct penetration tests, red team operations, and adversary emulation exercises on federal networks, applications, and systems across cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments. You'll lead projects and mentor junior team members while staying updated on emerging threats and security trends.

In this role, you'll uncover previously unknown and known vulnerabilities and threats that impact our client and their mission partners using client proprietary and open-source tools to expand both your technology base and tool knowledge and develop creative solutions for our classified customers. You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in penetration testing, ethical hacking, red teaming, or adversary emulation
  • Experience with Havoc, Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, Burp Suite, Kali Linux, Nmap, or Nessus
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell, for automation and custom tool development
  • Knowledge of the MITRE ATT & CK platform, Open Worldwide Application Security Project ( OWASP ) Top 10, Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures ( CVEs ) , and post-exploitation techniques
  • TS / SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Information Assurance Techni cia n or Information Assurance Management Level II Certification
  • Micro sof t Certification
  • Linux Certification
  • Certified Ethical Hacker ( CEH ) or CompTIA PenTest+ Certification


Nice If You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in penetration testing, ethical hacking, red teaming, or adversary emulation
  • Experience working in a SOC or cyber operations environment
  • Experience with NIST 800-53 and other federal cybersecurity frameworks
  • Possession of strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing formal technical reports
  • Information Assurance Techni cia n or Information Assurance Management Level III Certification
  • Offensive Security Certified Professional ( OSCP ) , GIAC Penetration Tester ( GPEN ) Offensive Security Wireless Professional ( OSWP ) , or GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester ( GWAPT ) Certification


Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information ; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $86,800.00 to $198,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
