Application Training Specialist

ECS is looking for an Application Training Specialist to work in our Stafford, VA office.

Description :

ECS is seeking a highly capable and experienced Application Training Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide application training to users of custom application software in both in-person and virtual settings. You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering software training demonstrations and instructional training curriculum that helps improve technical proficiency and empowers effective use of the software by the global user base and application support team.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and program stakeholders to proactively determine training areas of focus, improved delivery methods to the application community, and engaging curriculum development
• Propose training curriculum; develop software demonstrations, presentations, and other training materials
• Deliver in-person and virtual training sessions to small and large groups of application users; plan for ~20+ users in smaller settings and ~500+ users in larger settings
• Lead classroom instruction of program curriculum for new application users; plan for week-long training events, approximately 6-8 times per year
• Support training management activities and coordinate logistics for training events across domestic and international locations
• Generate daily and after-action summary reports on training effectiveness and make recommendations
• Assist the program Help Desk team with ongoing application troubleshooting support and response to user inquiries and issues
• Provide live demonstrations of the application software and application best practices and tips to employees during new-hire onboarding as well as train internal team members on features included in new software releases and updates
• Document process and procedural steps and guides in the support and delivery of application training on the program
• Stay updated on new, enhanced, or deprecated features within the application software
• Maintain knowledge of best practices for instructional delivery and pursue professional development through industry workshops, courses, and certifications

Required Skills

• Active Top-Secret Clearance
• Onsite support Monday-Friday, except Federal holidays
• Domestic and international travel
• 3+ years' training experience and / or 3+ years of proficiency in working with custom software applications
• Ability to demonstrate mastery of application subject matter and to convey complex information in a simplified manner
• Ability to communicate in a succinct and organized manner, ensuring delivery of training materials takes into account scope of audience and content
• Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to prioritize work and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced environment
• Dynamic and confident public speaker
• Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices in adult learning theory, instructional technology, instructional theory and practice
• Proficiency in MS Office suite and other business applications

Desired Skills

• Bachelor's Degree
• Background in biology sciences / functional knowledge of DNA analysis
