Position Summary

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Azure Cloud System Administrator to join our cloud operations team. This role focuses on managing and supporting our Microsoft Azure tenant and associated Microsoft 365 admin centers, ensuring smooth operations across Intune, Purview, Defender, Exchange, user and group management, and conditional access policies. The ideal candidate will have foundational knowledge of Azure services, with bonus points for experience in scripting, APIs, workflow automation, and security clearance credentials.

Key Responsibilities

• Azure Tenant & Microsoft 365 Administration
  • Manage user accounts and security groups via Azure Active Directory (AAD).
  • Implement and maintain Conditional Access policies to enforce security and compliance.
  • Monitor and respond to alerts, notifications, and audit logs within the Azure portal.
• Microsoft Intune Management
  • Enroll, configure, and manage Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.
  • Create and maintain compliance and configuration profiles.
  • Deploy and update applications using Intune.
• Microsoft Purview Compliance Tools
  • Implement data governance, sensitivity labels, and retention policies.
  • Review and escalate compliance alerts to senior team members.
• Microsoft Defender Security Center
  • Monitor and investigate security alerts across endpoints, email, and identities.
  • Assist in tuning Defender policies and security baselines.
• Exchange Admin Center
  • Create and manage mailboxes, distribution groups, and shared mailboxes.
  • Configure mailbox permissions, transport rules, and spam/phishing policies.
• Infrastructure & Automation Support
  • Assist with virtual machine (VM) provisioning, resizing, and monitoring in Azure.
  • Write basic Bash and PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks.
  • Use the Microsoft Graph API for reporting, provisioning, and bulk operations.
  • Build and troubleshoot n8n/Smartsheet workflows for process automation and data integration.

Qualifications

Required:

• Basic understanding of Microsoft Azure portal navigation and core services.
• Familiarity with Active Directory concepts (users, groups, roles).
• Basic knowledge of Intune, Defender, Purview, and Exchange Online administration.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new cloud technologies.
• US Citizen with active TS clearance.

Preferred (Bonus Points):

• Exposure to Azure VMs and resource groups.
• Experience writing simple scripts in Bash or PowerShell.
• Understanding of Microsoft Graph API usage.
• Familiarity with n8n or other automation/orchestration platforms.

Education & Experience

• Associate or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) or Microsoft 365 Fundamentals (MS-900) are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend at the waist, knees, and waist.
• Must have the physical ability to perform a variety of training functions.
• Ability to walk on uneven surfaces, walk long distances on a training facility, and operate equipment.
