Key Responsibilities:
As the MLS Cloud Architect, your responsibilities will include:
Cloud Architecture Design & Implementation:
- Design and manage MLS-enabled cloud architectures that adhere to mission requirements and DoD security standards.
- Develop scalable, secure solutions across multiple classification levels (e.g., unclassified, secret, top secret) within cloud environments.
- Architect cloud services for infrastructure, platform, and software needs across Space and Defense applications.
Multi-Level Security (MLS) Integration:
- Implement cross-domain solutions and MLS infrastructures that meet stringent DoD and intelligence community requirements.
- Leverage technologies such as Attribute-Based Access Control (ABAC), Role-Based Access Control (RBAC), and automated security controls to enforce separation between classification levels.
- Ensure cloud environments meet high availability and operational security standards.
Cloud Operations and Optimization:
- Monitor and optimize cloud performance, cost, and security across multiple systems and operational domains.
- Automate cloud deployments, monitoring, and scaling through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevSecOps principles.
- Provide technical oversight for routine cloud operations and ensure resilience in high-demand mission settings.
Security and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with DoD security regulations and frameworks, including NIST SP 800-53, FedRAMP, and RMF.
- Lead efforts to achieve Authorization to Operate (ATO) for MLS cloud systems and maintain compliance documentation.
- Implement advanced encryption, data protection, and identity management strategies to simulate high-security environments.
Collaboration and Technical Leadership:
- Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and mission planners to ensure cloud solutions align with Golden Dome objectives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for MLS cloud solutions, providing guidance and mentorship to technical teams.
Testing and Validation:
- Develop test plans and procedures to verify multi-level security functions, cloud compatibility, and cross-domain interoperability.
- Continuously validate architectures against evolving mission requirements and security threats.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed cloud architecture diagrams, deployment plans, and security reports.
- Present technical solutions and progress updates to stakeholders, program leadership, and DoD officials.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cloud Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical field. A Master's degree is preferred.
- 15+ years experience in cloud architecture and engineering, with expertise in designing MLS environments.
- Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with MLS principles, cross-domain solutions, access control frameworks, and data separation policies.
- Experience working with DoD security frameworks and achieving ATOs for cloud-based systems.
Desired Qualifications:
- Expertise in DevSecOps processes, including containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of advanced cloud technologies, such as zero-trust architectures, hybrid-cloud solutions, and serverless computing.
- Proven experience supporting DoD initiatives, such as Golden Dome or similar programs.
- Familiarity with secure networking technologies, such as Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), firewalls, and endpoint protection.
Clearance Requirements
- Active TOP SECRET (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI).
