Radiance is looking for a talented Test Engineer to support the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command's (SMDC) Reagan Test Site (RTS). We are looking for qualified and energetic candidates to directly support the RTS Test Resource Division and be responsible for coordinating, developing, and integrating communications architecture requirements for the Long Range Hypersonic Weapon (LRHW) Dark Eagle Program Office. Candidates must demonstrate thorough understanding of (including but not limited to) test range long-haul communications architectures, coordinating sensor integration into flight test architecture, and vetting test range and flight test sensor requirements. The Test Engineer responsibilities:
  • Coordinate/develop data and voice transfer requirements for test architecture
  • Analyze/communicate impacts of communication failures between mission participants and locations.
  • Coordinate COMSEC requirements and execution with all assets for flight test
  • Identify options to optimize network architecture including options that require funding additional infrastructure to improve performance
  • Lead team of engineers on site during mission execution - provide status and request support as needed to leadership
  • Conduct on-console operations during a flight test including executing a launch checklist and reporting launch criteria violations
  • Develop/Review requirements to put in UDS for DoD test ranges
  • Communicate funding and contract requirements for flight test performers to government lead
  • Investigate additional instrumentation/sensors available across DoD that could meet flight test requirements
  • Coordinate sensor integration into flight test architecture
  • Decompose flight test objectives into measurable discrete tasks
  • Conduct early integration and test work of flight test sensors prior to participation in a flight test event

Required Skills:
  • Active SECRET clearance
  • 6 years of progressively complex experience working collaboratively with program management, systems engineers, schedule analysts, and operations personnel in a concurrent engineering environment
  • Direct experience with network development


Required Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in systems engineering and/or test and evaluation with communication systems
  • Minimum 2 years of missile flight tests experience working on system architecture development
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary
  • Ability to work with all levels of staff within and outside the organization
  • Ability to think through problems and visualize solutions
  • A self-starter able to work independently but comfortable working in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills including the ability to work on multi-functional teams
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems


Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience coordinating mission requirements and integration activities with DoD test ranges
  • Experience developing and adjudicating UDS requirements for Program offices and DoD test ranges
