Duties
Help
  • You will research and evaluate capability on quantitative/qualitative basis on all aspects of Fleet Ordnance Support (FOS) ordnance operations, ordnance logistics, and explosives/occupational safety.
  • You will plan and conduct complicated, comprehensive independent analytical studies/ reviews for all FOS programmatic politics for 20 subordinate commands.
  • You will develop, monitor and coordinate the execution of programs and procedures related to ammunition stock point and retail ammunition management.
  • You will collect detailed monthly workload performance output metrics to monitor and capture all aspects of operations.
  • You will provide detailed technical data analyses and recommendations for workload related realignments of personnel between Areas of Consideration (AOR).
  • You will perform special interest independent evaluations, assessments and studies directed by higher authority to include Deputy Assistant for Secretary of Navy, Secretary of Defense and U.S. Fleet Forces.

  • This position may require recall.
  • May require overtime and emergency overtime.
Qualifications

GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience developing and updating conventional ordnance/explosive handling qualifications and certification standardized training plans, such as Ammunition and explosives facilities and operations inspections, Lighting Protection/Grounding emissions control, and Oversight of the program covering material potential presenting an explosives Hazard (MPPEH) and ranges.
  • Experience developing, drafting, and approving standard operating procedures
  • Experience with ammunition and Explosive Qualifications, Certifications, and training program administration
  • Experience with Ordnance handling operations

GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
  • Experience conducting explosive safety management program assessments at the unit and detachment level, such as Ammunition and explosives facilities and operations inspections, Lighting Protection/Grounding emissions control, and Oversight of the program covering material potential presenting an explosives Hazard (MPPEH) and ranges.
  • Experience updating Navy SharePoint and Navy correspondence
  • Experience reading and disseminating message traffic, drafting, and releasing official message traffic
  • Experience with ISO container management, transshipment, and container ordnance buildups.

SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE:

GS 11:

Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree

or

3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree

or L.L.M., if related

Additional information

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
