Clearance Required: Position requires an active DoD Secret Clearance (or higher)

Certifications Required: Active CompTIA Security+ CE (or higher DoD 8570 certification). Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) with Enterprise Core or Data Center specialty.

Overview: MILVETS is currently seeking a full-time, experienced, Network Engineer - Data Center with 10-15 years of hands-on experience in enterprise Cisco networks and data center environments. The ideal candidate will bring technical depth in network design, configuration, troubleshooting, and security implementation while working collaboratively with DoD teams and enterprise IT administrators. This role requires a strong understanding of Cisco data center solutions, enterprise routing/switching, and compliance with DISA STIG requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, configure, and install enterprise network devices within a data center environment (Cisco Nexus, Catalyst, UCS, ACI, etc.).
- Support and maintain network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and security appliances.
- Implement, monitor, and enforce DISA STIG compliance across network components.
- Evaluate and respond to network incidents, performing root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Support change management processes and contribute to project deliverables.
- Collaborate with Windows, Unix, and other server administrators to integrate, troubleshoot, and optimize data center operations.
- Utilize SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk) and monitoring platforms (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Catalyst Center/DNA) to identify and resolve issues.
- Design, plan, and implement enterprise LAN/WAN networks, including SDN solutions such as SD-Access and SD-WAN.
- Provide documentation, reporting, and recommendations for network improvements.
- Partner with DoD teams to ensure alignment with project objectives and security requirements.
Technical Expertise:
- Cisco Nexus 7000/9000 and Catalyst series switches.
- Cisco routers (4551, 8500 series).
- Advanced routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF.
- Cisco data center solutions: Nexus, UCS, ACI, Fibre Channel.
- Network security policies, implementation, and monitoring with SIEM tools.
- Data center integration: compute, storage, and automation.
- Software tools: SolarWinds, Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA), Splunk.
- Implementation of DISA STIGs to ensure compliance.
Required Qualifications:
- 10-15 years of experience in Cisco enterprise networking and data center environments.
- Active Security+ CE (or higher DoD 8570 certification).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) with Enterprise Core or Data Center specialty.
- Experience implementing, securing, and maintaining enterprise networks in DoD or similar regulated environments.
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience supporting DoD project teams and objectives.
- Ability to manage complex troubleshooting efforts and provide detailed root cause analysis.
- Collaborative approach, with proven ability to work across multidisciplinary IT and security teams.
- Familiarity with SD-Access and SD-WAN solutions.
