Job Title: Network Engineer - Wireless - Secret Clearance

Certifications Required: CompTIA Security+ CE (or higher), CCNP (Enterprise Core or Wireless specialty)

Overview: MILVETS is currently seeking a full-time, experienced, Network Engineer - Wireless with an active Secret Clearance, and deep expertise in Cisco enterprise networking to support Department of Defense (DoD) projects, on-site at NNSY, Portsmouth, VA. The ideal candidate will bring at least seven (7) years of hands-on experience in designing, configuring, and installing enterprise wired and wireless networks, along with a strong background in network security, compliance, and advanced routing technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and manage complex enterprise wired and wireless network infrastructures.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and monitor switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, and related appliances.
- Apply and maintain DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure DoD compliance.
- Evaluate and respond to network incidents; perform root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Manage security protocols, policies, and event monitoring using SIEM tools such as Splunk.
- Plan, design, and implement enterprise LAN and WAN solutions.
- Work closely with DoD teams to meet mission and project objectives.
- Support approved change management and configuration processes.
Technical Expertise:
- Routing & Switching: Advanced knowledge of EIGRP, OSPF, and switching technologies.
- SDN Technologies: Experience with SD-Access and SD-WAN.
- Hardware: Cisco Nexus (7000/9000), Cisco Catalyst Series, Cisco Routers (4551, 8500), Cisco APs (9000 series), Aruba APs (AP275, 375, 515).
- Software Tools: Cisco WLC, Cisco ISE, Cisco Catalyst Center (DNA Center), SolarWinds, Splunk, Aruba WLC.
Required Qualifications:
- Active DoD Security+ CE (or higher).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) - Enterprise Core or Wireless specialty.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in enterprise network engineering.
- Strong background in DoD environments and security compliance standards.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience supporting military or defense programs.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional DoD and contractor teams.
