Overview : MILVETS is currently seeking a motivated Information Security Analyst, with a Top-Secret Clearance to join our team in supporting mission-critical IT and cybersecurity operations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in cybersecurity metrics analysis, incident response, risk mitigation, and vulnerability management. This role requires an individual with expert knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, policies, and regulations applicable to DoD and Navy environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct cybersecurity analysis in support of mission-critical systems.
• Perform system and network vulnerability assessments and risk mitigation analysis.
• Develop and maintain contingency plans to ensure operational continuity.
• Execute Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) activities in accordance with DoD guidelines.
• Manage firewall policies, ports, and protocols to ensure system security and compliance.
• Oversee day-to-day Vulnerability Remediation Asset Management (VRAM) activities.
• Upload vulnerability scans into VRAM and maintain accurate system baseline configurations.
• Utilize cybersecurity applications and tools including:
  
  • ACAS
  • HBSS
  • MDE
  • MDI
  • Splunk
• Apply cybersecurity best practices and INFOSEC concepts to protect information systems.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant cybersecurity laws, frameworks, and directives, including:
  
  • FISMA
  • DoD and DON directives (e.g., DoDI 8500.01, 8530)
  • SECNAV 5239 and OPNAV 5239 series
  • NIST SP 800 series
  • OPNAVINST N9210.3 - Safeguarding Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information
• Maintain expert/mastery-level knowledge of mission-critical IT and cybersecurity procedures, systems, and processes.
• Support vulnerability remediation planning, risk assessments, and incident response activities.

Technical Expertise:

• Strong understanding of Computer Security (CS) and Information Security (INFOSEC) concepts and requirements.
• Proficiency in:
  
  • Risk assessment and mitigation strategies
  • Contingency and continuity planning
  • System/network vulnerability analysis and ST&E
  • Firewall policy configuration and port/protocol management
• Expertise in VRAM activities, including uploading and tracking vulnerability scans for compliance and baseline control.
• Extensive hands-on experience with cybersecurity applications: ACAS, HBSS, MDE, MDI, Splunk
• Deep familiarity with DoD and Navy cybersecurity policies and compliance frameworks.
• Fully qualified per DoD 8570.01M.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline, or Level II Certification (e.g., Security+ or higher).
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in cybersecurity analysis and support.
• Fully qualified in accordance with DoD 8570.01M.
• Demonstrated expertise in supporting mission-critical cybersecurity systems, policies, and processes in DoD or Navy environments.

Preferred Attributes:

• Experience supporting classified or sensitive Navy/DoD environments.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and reporting.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.
