Naval Research Laboratory, DC (On/Off-Site)
SG2 Recruiting seeks a Chief Systems Engineer to support a Naval Center for Space Technology (NCST) contract. The NCST is located at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) in Washington, DC, and is the leading laboratory for Navy space programs. NCST’s mission is to “preserve and enhance a strong space technology base and provide expert capabilities in the development and acquisition of space systems which support Naval missions.”
For the last 25 years, the NCST has developed, enhanced, and maintained a collection of software used for design, development, test, launch, and mission operations of DoD space assets. This software is constantly being enhanced to provide state-of-the-art solutions to space applications. The core suite of software components is used in all aspects of the spacecraft or component life-cycle.
What You Will Be Doing:
Guiding users in formulating requirements, advising alternate approaches, and conducting feasibility studies.
Providing technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
Incorporating new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
Developing system architecture and system design documentation.
Guiding system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans.
Interacting with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues, or conflicts.
Providing the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility.
Designing hardware and software interfaces, including human-machine interfaces that connect and interoperate correctly and are able to accept new features.
The contractor shall have expertise with VxWorks, and the design, development, testing, and maintenance of MUS within the Neptune environment.
Assisting the government in assessing the right C2 and RTOS tools for the job. Other COTS/GOTS components should be evaluated for use, applicability, and cost at the government's direction.
Applying expertise in other COTS/GOTS solutions for C2 and RTOS.
What You Will Need (Requirements):
