You will be a Machine-Tool Operator. Our team is committed to delivering exceptional results, and we're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Machine-Tool Operator to join our team.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Machine-Tool Operator, you will be responsible for:

• Someone in this position specializes in operating one or more than one type of machine tool (e.g., 3, 4, and 5-axis machining cnc machines, grinding machine, lathe, milling machine) to machine metal for use in making or maintaining jigs, fixtures, cutting tools, gauges, aircraft components, and various other products or molds used in shaping or forming metal or nonmetallic material (e.g., plastic, plaster, rubber, glass).
• Work typically involves: planning and performing difficult machining operations which require complicated setups or a high degree of accuracy, setting up machine tool or tools (e.g., installing cutting tools and adjusting guides, stops, working tables, and other controls to handle the size of stock to be machined.
• The Machine Tool Operator determines proper feeds, speeds, tooling, and operation sequence or selects those prescribed in drawings, blueprints, or layouts).
• Work also involves using a variety of precision measuring instruments, making necessary adjustments during machining operation to achieve requisite dimensions to very close tolerances. This worker may be required to select proper coolants and cutting and lubricating oils to recognize when tools need dressing, and to dress tools.
• In general, the work of a Machine-Tool Operator (Tool room) at the skill level called for in this classification, requires extensive knowledge of machine shop and tool room practice usually acquired though considerable on-the-job training and experience.
• This position is for 2nd shift, Monday through Thursday, 3:30pm to 2:00am.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access and is in direct support of a U.S. government contract that requires a company-sponsored clearance to start.
Basic Qualifications:
Candidate must be able to maintain secret level security clearance, be willing to be moved to different machines with different tasks as workload demands. A background in manufacturing is a plus.

Candidate must possess basic computer skills and be able to check email daily as well as perform computer based annual training.
Desired Skills:
Waterjet and 5-axis CNC machining experience a plus.

Experience in a "job shop" environment where the same product isn't produced everyday a plus.

SAP experience a plus.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
