Northrop Grumman Microelectronics Center (NGMC) is seeking Senior Principal IPT SW Architect.
What You'll Get to Do:
IPT Level Role, responsible for the Software Architecture of a major segment of an extremely complex system that incorporates mature and emerging technologies. The Software Architect is responsible for analyzing overarching needs by using a structured and logical approach, and developing System Architecture solutions and concepts for various new and emerging capabilities, in collaboration with other architects, including the lead Systems Architect, hardware architects, cyber architects, and others internal, customer, and supplier stakeholders.
This position will serve on-site in the greater Baltimore, MD area OR Redondo Beach, CA .
This position is contingent upon acquiring and maintaining the necessary US Government security clearance per customers' requirements.
Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal IPT SW Architect:
• Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of experience with Bachelor's degree, 6 years of experience with Master's degree, 4 years of experience with PhD
• Demonstrated experience with the Systems Development Lifecycle and successfully supporting major reviews
• Demonstrated experience working with architectural studies, technical baseline definition, requirements & interface management
• Demonstrated experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML/MBSE)
• Strong understanding of Systems Engineering fundamentals, principles, and processes, specifically system architecture
• Strong understanding of software design principles, computer architecture, and relevant technologies
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong technical briefing skills
• This position requires the applicant to be a U.S. citizen
• Current active DoD TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph
Preferred Qualifications for Senior Principal IPT SW Architect:
• Current active DoD TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
• Experience with full software lifecycle: specification, design, implementation, integration, debug and maintenance is required.
• Understanding of system and interface definitions through the creation of Block Definition Diagrams (BDDs) and Internal Block Definition Diagrams (IBDs)
• Knowledge of software design principles and patterns
• Understanding of interaction between different software and hardware components and subsystems
Experience and familiarity with some combination of:
• Infrastructure tools: Docker, Kubernetes, Cypress, Doxygen, Jupyter Notebooks, Visual Studio, Python, node.js
• Application Management tools: GitLab, NExus, Prometheus, Trivy, SonarQube
• Data and Visualization tools: SharePoint, Elasticsearch, MariaDB, MongoDB, Tableau, Grafana
• Experience with , hardware/software integration, test planning & execution, or operational support
• Familiarity with Project & Task Management tools: Jira or Confluence
• Familiarity with data visualization tools: Tableau
Primary Level Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
