FOIA Analyst
As our work with our DoD Government Customer at NAVAIR continues to grow, TSA is seeking a Journeyman-level FOIA Analyst to assist with the review of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests.
This position will require full on-site/in person presence at NAS Patuxent River, MD.

Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law. Roles/Responsibilities:
- Serve as a FOIA Case Manager, coordinating responses across multiple offices to ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of requests.
- Collect, compile, and analyze input from stakeholders to provide complete and defensible responses to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests under the control of NAWCAD.
- Review and redact sensitive or exempt information in accordance with FOIA requirements and applicable regulations.
- Maintain and update the FOIA tracker database for assigned cases, ensuring all incoming and outgoing correspondence is properly logged and organized.
- Monitor FOIA case progress, proactively request due date extensions when needed, and ensure all milestones and deadlines are met.
- Prepare and deliver clear, concise status updates and background reports to Senior Leadership, including updates to briefing materials and slides.
- Support archiving and records management by organizing both hardcopy and electronic files for closed FOIA cases while establishing proper records management practices for new cases.
- Coordinate and support FOIA-related meetings, including video teleconferences, to keep stakeholders aligned and informed.
Qualifications Required:
- Interim clearance required to start; ability to obtain and maintain a final clearance is required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting FOIA and/or Privacy Act reviews, or performing related analytical, records management, or information disclosure work (An allowable substitution is an associate's degree plus 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area)
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent FOIA cases, track deadlines, and ensure compliance with statutory and organizational requirements
- Strong organizational and administrative skills with proven ability to prioritize tasks, manage competing deadlines, maintain accurate records, prepare correspondence, maintain trackers, and coordinate inputs across multiple offices
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to prepare professional reports, manage case data, and create briefing materials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present case updates and brief leadership clearly and concisely
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in redacting, reviewing, and preparing responses to FOIA requests
Qualifications Desired:
- FOIA experience within DoD, Navy, or other federal agencies
- Familiarity with FOIA exemptions, Privacy Act, and records management
- Experience with FOIA case management tools, including FACTS and FOIAXpress
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multiple stakeholders
