Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to join a highly visible federal cybersecurity contract in Chantilly, VA. This role will play a mission-critical part in the sustainment and modernization of legacy cybersecurity systems, as well as the design and deployment of new enterprise security services.
You will be at the intersection of system administration, enterprise networking, and cloud services, ensuring the stability and modernization of critical environments. The role combines hands-on administration of Windows and Linux/CentOS servers, management of Cisco-based enterprise solutions, and integration of AWS cloud architectures to deliver secure, scalable, and resilient systems.

Key Responsibilities
• Provide Operations & Maintenance support across Tier 1–3 environments.
• Administer and secure Windows & Linux/CentOS servers.
• Support and maintain Cisco ISE, Umbrella, and DNAC solutions.
• Configure and manage AWS cloud services including EC2, RDS, S3, Elastic Load Balancer, and Route 53.
• Support Apple iOS integration and management.
• plan, develop, and implement system upgrades to improve mission performance. Identify technical risks and apply risk mitigation strategies.
• Create, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system documentation.
• Deliver strong customer relationship management and end-user support.

Required Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience with Windows & Linux/CentOS server administration.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, Umbrella, and DNAC.
• Familiarity with Apple iOS enterprise integration.
• Professional experience configuring and monitoring AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, Elastic Load Balancer, Route 53).
• Proven track record of executing system upgrades and modernization initiatives.
• Experience in risk identification and mitigation within enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated ability to provide Tier 1–3 support operations.
• Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience authoring and updating SOPs and technical documentation.

• Experience with Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum).
• Hands-on experience with wireless networking solutions.
• Familiarity with Cisco Duo, Splunk, and Meraki.
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, CloudFormation).
• Proficiency with command-line interfaces across Windows, Linux, AWS, and Cisco environments.
• Understanding of the A&A process and compliance monitoring.
• Experience preparing compliance evidence such as POA&Ms.
• Familiarity with Moodle Learning Management System installation and configuration.
• Knowledge of database engineering, development, and administration.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
