Patriot Group International Inc. has a full-time, exempt employee opening for a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) Instructor. This position will be located in our Okinawa, Japan based training operations location. This position reports to the PGI Program Manager.
Responsibilities:
• Provide planning, coordination, and instruction for Close Quarters Tactics as they apply to maritime interdiction operations (MIO)
• Conduct MIO familiarization and performance-orientated instruction that relate precisely to VBSS operations during daylight and reduced visibility.
• Provide instruction and practical application of multiple insertion methods (Helicopter Assault Force (HAF), Boat Assault Force (BAF), and Combined HAF/BAF),
external entry, personnel processing, and tactical withdrawal.
• Enhance the knowledge students obtained in the pre-requisite CQT Course for application to maritime operations.
• Provide training in tactical combat casualty care, advanced trauma techniques, confined space extrication, hoist operations, and mass casualty triage.
• Assist in planning, coordination, and evaluation of MEU Exercises.
• Attend Course Content Review Boards to provide recommendations for course content changes based on lessons learned.
• Support Exercise Planning Events, Conferences, and Site Surveys.
Qualifications:
• Minimum of (10) years of honorable service in the United States Armed Forces or civilian law enforcement agency equivalent.
• Recency of experience: No more than (5) years removed from active duty or contract assignment teaching or applying close quarters combat techniques
• Graduate of Expeditionary/Special Operations Training Group's Close Quarters Tactics Course, Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat, Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance and Target Exploitation Course, Master Assaulter's Course, or Other Service Equivalent.
• Must be a graduate of a Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) Course
• Must be a graduate of a basic or senior instructor course or have previous experience as an instructor teaching these specific skill sets.
• Must have served as a close quarters combat instructor or VBSS Instructor within Special Mission/Training Branch at an Expeditionary/Special Operations Training Group (USMC), Special Forces Advanced Urban Combat Course, Special Forces Advanced Reconnaissance and Target Exploitation Course, Master Assaulters Course, or Naval Special Warfare.
Clearance:
Must possess an active DOD SECRET Security Clearance.
General Requirements:
• Must be able to be able to pass the United State Marine Corps and Marine Corps Base Camp Butler Range Safety Officer Curriculum
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
• Be able to maintain military customs and courtesies, demonstrate a knowledge and familiarity with the organization and hierarchy of the United States Marine Corps, military rank/grade structure, knowledge of Marine Corps and military terminology, and shipboard environments.
• Must be able to pass within 90 days of arrival to Okinawa and maintain an eighty percent qualification score in the United States Marine Corps modified qualification course of fire with the United States Marine Corps issued service rifle and pistol.
• Knowledge of common commercial computer applications (e.g. Outlook, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, etc) to produce a variety of documents, charts, graphs, and briefing materials and devices/equipment (tablets, smartphones, etc) to present and execute training.
