Position Description
Serco is seeking a motivated Field Support Team Manager to join our talented and fast-paced Systems Integration and Installation team in supporting PMS 485 with SURTASS Operations and Maintenance.
As part of this effort, Serco would execute the shoreside and underway operations and maintenance of the US Navy and allied partner SURTASS mission by providing a team of 100+ highly qualified SURTASS Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technicians, Field Support Technicians (FSTs), and program support staff across multiple global locations.
The FST Manager position would be responsible for technical and maintenance management and oversight of the FST crew of 20+ technicians.

The FST Manager position would be responsible for technical and maintenance management and oversight of the FST crew of 20+ technicians.
In this role you will:
- Manage staffing, qualifying, training, and execution of Intermediate level maintenance of all SURTASS mission systems.
- Direct all the day-to-day operations of the O&M technician staff.
- Develop and maintain the contractor Maintenance Integrated Master Schedule (IMS)
- Responsible for the timely completion of all FST crew scheduled and unscheduled maintenance from a technical standpoint.
- In support of the Program Manager, be primarily responsible for FST crew support to the government in execution of the SURTASS mission.
- Generate reports for SURTASS mission systems status as directed by the Government.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- An active DoD Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret level security clearance. A current Active DoD Secret Clearance is preferred.
- Associate's degree in resource management, Information Systems Management, or equivalent, or be a graduate of US Navy Electronics or Information Systems "C" School or an equivalent civilian school related to the Job Description listed above. Additional years of experience may be substituted for the associate degree or four-year degree.
- 10 years' experience in managing personnel related to the Job Description listed above.
- DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) IAT Level II certification required (within 12 months) of employment.
Additional preferred skills and qualifications:
- Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- DoD 8140 (formerly 8570) IAT Level III certification
- 10 years' experience managing technical teams executing operations and maintenance on Navy C4I systems and/or acoustic intelligence gathering systems related to the Job Description listed above.
- Five years' experience in the maintenance and repair of SURTASS C4I systems, SURTASS processing systems, and SURTASS arrays (active and passive) related to the Job Description listed above.
- Experience in manpower planning, scheduling, qualification programs, and training program related to the Job Description listed above.
Other Competencies:
- Proven skills in leading large, geographically disperse maintenance teams.
- Strong working knowledge of the SURTASS or other acoustic intelligence missions and systems and the maintenance required to maintain these systems at the Intermediate level.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Demonstrated good judgment, a well-developed sense of propriety, critical thinking and problem solving, the ability collaboratively works with the customer to find effective and efficient solutions.
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced and collaborative team environment.

- RDC C-School
- IT C-School
- SURTASS FST Schoo
Former military, Navy experience is preferred.
