Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineers and technicians in lab-based testing and integration.
Advise on the adoption of emerging technologies for program systems.
Implement engineering changes and system upgrades.
Review and analyze technical requirements, ensuring end-to-end system architecture compliance.
Configure and manage Linux-based networks, coordinating with SMEs, peers, and government engineers.
Provide technical documentation and occasional travel support (10%).
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in STEM + 5 years experience (OR 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree).
Strong knowledge of Red Hat Linux and other Linux OS.
Hands-on with Splunk monitoring & analysis.
Knowledge of STIGs & implementation, DNS (Linux BIND).
Scripting/programming in Bash, Shell, Ansible, Python.
Must work onsite in San Diego.
U.S. Citizenship & eligibility for DoD Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with imaging, backup & restore tools (Clonezilla, Linux dump).
Leadership in managing engineering teams and delegating technical tasks.
Hands-on with containers (Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
Expertise with virtualization platforms (VMWare, KVM, Hyper-V, RH-V).
Ability to mentor junior engineers and improve processes.
Flexible to support 2nd shift, RDO Fridays, or weekends.
Knowledge of networking systems, iSCSI connectivity.
Experience in Linux/Unix system design, implementation, and sustainment.
Familiarity with containerization design and sustainment.
