Summary:
Seeking a Electronics Technician Maintenance Professional to support government customer. The incumbent will be qualified to perform complex diagnosis, installation, and modifications to aviation ground electronics systems and various other equipment. Must be willing to climb and travel 2-3 times a year and travel may span 6-12 weeks at a time.
Responsibilities
Performs required assembly, installation, integration, and test of electronics equipment as required.
Set up, integrate, and store airfield systems that support aviation operations.
Perform light construction and electrical installation at sites to support infrastructure upgrades.
Perform site surveys and develop installation plans.
Must be okay with travel.
Must possess, or be willing and able to obtain, climbing certifications.
Education
Associate degree or related experience.
Formal electronics training from an accredited institution; four (4) year electronics apprentice program a plus.
Qualifications
Must have ACTIVE SECRET CLEARANCE.
Seeking a high level of technical expertise in audio communications equipment, preferably in the air traffic control environment. The minimum requirement is for the candidate to have practical experience with communication systems (e.g., telecommunications, analog communications, VoIP communications.)
Minimum of six (6) years of practical experience, including electronics installation, integration, test, repair, and/or maintenance.
Minimum of one (1) year of practical experience in electronics installation.
Minimum of two (2) years technical experience in the field of Air Traffic Control (ATC) equipment and systems including aviation ground navigation systems, meteorology systems, or air traffic control communication systems (may be gained concurrently).
Formal electronics training in installation tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and making/repairing connectors.

Work location: Charleston, SC
Physical requirements: Must be willing to climb up to 20% of the time.
Must Be Willing to Climb Equipment
Extended Computer Use: Regular and prolonged periods of working at a computer terminal.
Lifting and Carrying: Occasional lifting of equipment and materials weighing up to 50 pounds may be required during installations or maintenance.
Mobility: Ability to move around the office environment to access computer hardware, networking equipment, and server rooms.
Dexterity: Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate computer equipment, troubleshoot issues, and perform tasks requiring precision.
Sitting/Standing: Both prolonged sitting and occasional standing may be required for troubleshooting and attending to system issues.
Background check: Must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance
