Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an entry level Technician to join our team in Courtland, AL!
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Perform washing, chemical treatments, and surface prep/application/finishing to ensure optimal Thermal Protection System (TPS) adhesion and longevity.
• Prepare missile, parts, components, and surfaces, ensuring all areas are properly protected and free from contaminants.
• Utilize various hand tools and hand-held power tools such as grinders, sanders, paint guns, and measuring devices to achieve desired TPS finishes.
• Maintain and troubleshoot application equipment to ensure continuous operation and optimal performance in the aerospace industry.
• Ensure all surfaces are prepped to exact specifications, applying advanced techniques to achieve optimal paint adhesion and a high-quality finish.
Physical Requirements:
• While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee will be required to equip PPE as required to perform job tasks.
• Use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear.
• Frequently stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, twist, and work on the missile.
• Frequently lift and/or push or pull up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or push or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Perform repetitive movements and work overhead.
• The employee is regularly exposed to vibration.
Basic Qualifications:
• Ability to perform mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Ability to read and work from work instructions, schematics, engineering drawings, wiring lists, sketches, wiring connection lists, and/or other information and documentation.
• Ability to work day or night shift onsite in Courtland, Alabama
• Must be able to obtain a Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
• Knowledge and use of hand tools such as grinders, sanders, paint guns, and measuring devices
• Knowledge of aircraft or autobody or similar surface preparation and coatings/painting and/or anti-corrosion chemical application and treatment
• Knowledge of safety and contamination protection best practices.
• Knowledge of robotic operations
• Graduate of AIDT (Alabama Industrial Development Training)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
