Define the architecture of tomorrow’s space defense systems—design and integrate high-performance computing environments that power the Deep Space Advanced Radar Capability (DARC), ensuring U.S. space superiority and warfighter readiness.
A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do
• Collaboratively define and document the computer system architecture baseline for DS2
• Establish application configuration and provisioning plans for RedHat Linux and enterprise environments
• Determine system specifications, I/O processes, and compatibility requirements to ensure hardware/software security and performance
• Lead the design and integration of multiple high-performance compute environments supporting the program
• Coordinate across teams of system administrators, cybersecurity engineers, database managers, and developers
• Identify and resolve program support deficiencies, providing corrective action recommendations
• Ensure hardware/software integration supports operational requirements during domestic and international deployments
Required Qualifications
• Active DoD Secret clearance
• Education/Experience: 8 years with Bachelor’s, 6 years with Master’s, or 4 years with PhD in STEM field
• Experience with requirements decomposition and derivation to hardware subsystem/component level
• Proficiency in configuring and provisioning RedHat Linux
• Familiarity with HPE High Performance Computing platforms
• Experience with virtualization technologies and VMware products (vCenter, vSphere, NSX, Tanzu, Avi Load Balancer)
• Background in network design, configuration, and management
• Familiarity with commercial hardware systems (servers, switches, routers, storage)
• Experience with Atlassian toolsets (JIRA, Confluence)
• Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles
• Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally (up to 3 months during deployment phase)
Preferred Qualifications
• RedHat Certified (System Administrator or Engineer)
• CompTIA Security+ or Network+ certification
• VMware Data Center or Network Virtualization certification
• Experience working within CAMEO for MBSE
• Familiarity with engineering drawings and electronic bills of material (eBOMs) supporting procurement activities
