Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an Composite Technician Levels II and III to join our team in Pascagoula, MS . The Electrical Technician will support the Department of Defense with the installation, repair, and troubleshooting of composite lamination and lay-up processes aboard various Navy ship classes across U.S. coastal installations.
Responsibilities of the Composite Technician include:
· Participate in composite certification and qualification training
· Perform composite repairs and modifications to shipboard structures as part of a small, skilled team
· Follow all applicable installation procedures and standards
· Maintain accurate documentation in the project QA book
· Provide daily progress updates to supervisors or team leads
· Handle composite materials safely and comply with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding hazardous materials
· Adhere to shipyard, shipboard, and OSHA safety protocols
· Uphold quality standards as outlined in the Composite Workbooks and Composite Owner's Manual
· Support shipboard availabilities and maintenance cycles with a collaborative crew
Qualifications for the Composite Technician include:
· 2+ years of experience with shipboard composite repair
· Familiarity with the Composite Owner's Manual and Composite Work Item Workbook
· OSHA 10 certification required or willingness to obtain
· Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs independently
· Willingness to travel in support of ship maintenance at various locations
· Flexible scheduling to accommodate Navy operational timelines
· Solid understanding of safety protocols and procedures
· Comfortable working in confined shipboard spaces
· Must be punctual, dependable, and available to work Monday-Friday (40 hours/week) with flexibility for weekend shifts as needed
· Must be able to obtain and maintain DBIDS base access
· Must be able to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance
Compensation for the Composite Technician includes:
· Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000 depending on experience
