This position requires that the applicant selected be eligible to obtain, and/or currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph. The position further requires the applicant will obtain a commensurate clearance for each government agency for which they perform GPS work. Failure to maintain (or obtain, if applicable) the appropriate U.S. Government clearance and/or customer screening requirements that results in the employee unable to perform the requirements of the role, may result in employment action up to and including termination.Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in computing infrastructure, networking, operating systems, or hardware.
  • 5 years of experience managing technical, vendor, contract management, support, operations, or delivery teams.
  • Active US Government Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (TS/SCI) security clearance with Polygraph.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with high-performance computing and specialty hardware.
  • Experience with liquid cooling technologies.

About the job

As a Technical Program Manager (people manager) for the Deployment Support team, you will lead a team of Data Center Technicians and Technical Solutions Engineers in a specialized environment. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the team's installations, their support of server and network hardware and components, and their maintaining and troubleshooting of systems, all while fostering a positive and collaborative team culture aligned with Google's values. You will also manage daily operations, guiding the team through the installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and decommissioning of servers in non-standard locations. Additionally, you will supervise the deployment and support of network components within the data center, lead teams on installations, and develop comprehensive project contingency plans. This role will involve direct interaction with an upcoming, innovative program, characterized by a high degree of ambiguity.

This role will require up to 25% travel. You must have the ability to work non-standard hours, including working weekends, night shifts, holidays and on shift-based schedules as required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
