Field Technician

Key Responsibilities:
• Unloading & Inventory: Unload trucks, inventory equipment, and stage items for installation.
• Equipment Installation: Position and install UPS units, PDU units, and other critical infrastructure.
• Cabling & Connections: Route and connect server room cables, blue power cables, and install circuit breakers. Perform rack connections and disk deployments as specified (e.g., 5A1, 2A3, 3A1, etc.).
• Mechanical & Electrical Work: Install and maintain mechanical systems such as air conditioning ductwork, highbay ducting, and GPS antennas. Handle electrical tasks including UPS power-up, circuit breaker installation, and electrical lockout/tagout.
• System Configuration: Complete system integrations including IOS desk configurations, EPO systems, and power verification. Install and configure network components and perform system checks.
• Documentation & Reporting: Mark equipment positions on the floor, complete debriefing tasks, and provide detailed reports on installation progress and issues.
Intent is to convert successful contractors to FTEs by December, the client has international travel coming at the end of the year that they will need support on and anybody converted to an FTE would be part of the international travel group.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with hands-on experience in installation and maintenance of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Skills:
o Proficiency in electrical and mechanical system installation and troubleshooting.
o Experience with cabling, circuit breakers, and power systems.
o Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
o Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics.
o Familiarity with safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience with server room equipment and UPS systems.
• Knowledge of rack connection standards and disk deployment processes.
• Certification in electrical systems or related fields.
