Clearance Required: Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (Exceptionally qualified candidates eligible for an Interim Secret Clearance may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Work Schedule: Day shift
Travel: Up to 10% of the time

Compensation:
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000 annually. Final compensation is based on experience, education, and directly relevant certifications.

• Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) tools such as Trellix, Tanium, or Elastic
• HBSS Administrator Training Certification (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
• Security+ certification (CE status)
• Windows and/or Linux environment troubleshooting
• STIG, IAVM, CTO, OPORD, or DISA Endpoint Security compliance work
• PowerShell or Python scripting experience

Description of Duties:
The Jr. Endpoint Security Solution (ESS) Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract.

The candidate will:

• Be responsible for the implementation and management of the MDA's endpoint security infrastructure, with a primary focus on the Trellix Endpoint Security environment
• Work with a team of ESS engineers, ensuring the security and compliance of all endpoints within the Missile Defense Agency (MDA)
• Support the Cyber Applications Delivery Teams with Operational & Maintenance (O&M) activities associated with all cybersecurity applications within the MDA environment
• Complete required training and certifications necessary to obtain privileged accounts to complete O&M tasks
• Assist in the administration and maintenance of the cybersecurity suite of applications to include Account Management, Patching/ Updates, Troubleshooting/ Issue Resolution, Deploying Agents
• Assist in the planning and implementation of new cybersecurity tools
• Assist in troubleshooting and solving complex technical issues independently and/or with the help of teammates
• Assist with developing and updating documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures
• Provide support for after-hour maintenance window work, as needed
• Assist with other applicable cybersecurity tasks as assigned

The successful candidate will:

• Have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills
• Be detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance (Exceptionally qualified candidates eligible for an Interim Secret clearance may be considered on a case by case basis.
• Must have 1 or more years of direct IT experience outside of academia
• Must have, or obtain within 3 months of start date, a HBSS administrator training certification
• Must be able to maintain a restricted badge and work on site 4+ days or more per week
• Must be able to support after-hour and weekend work, as needed
• Must have a current Security+ certification and be enrolled in Continuing Education (CE)

Desired Qualifications:

• Have experience with Endpoint Security Solutions (ESS) such as Trellix (formerly McAfee), Tanium, or Elastic
• Have a basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
• Have experience with Windows and/or Linux environment troubleshooting
• Have experience with STIG's, IAVM's, CTO's, OPORD's and DISA Endpoint Security requirements
• Be familiar with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
• Have familiarity with the MDA and BMDS programs
