The Role
Our company partner is seeking a candidate to join an exciting and growing opportunity within the Defense sector. There is an immediate need for a Data Engineer who will support the client with their most complex challenges. The role will require the application of current data analytic capabilities to assist the client with a large-scale financial transformation. The candidate will also operate in an ever-changing landscape and will be directly involved in finding opportunities for future growth.
On a regular basis, the candidate will be challenged to analyze large, disparate sets of data to advise the client on strategic and financial decisions. A strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. SQL, Python, etc.) will be foundational in the role. The candidate should also have a working knowledge of modern trends within the data science space.
Moreover, the role will require the coordination with cross-functional teams and the ability to use their technical findings to support team leadership in the development of executive-level briefings.

Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, and validate data from various source systems in multiple formats
- Maintain and update databases in Teradata and Databricks using documented ETL processes
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement findings to support client
efficiencies - Develop and maintain dashboards to communicate findings in a user-friendly format
- Analyze large, unstructured datasets to identify key insights and support senior-level decision
making - Support requirements definition and analysis from multiple client stakeholders
- Ensure data privacy and compliance with regard to Defense-related security regulations
- Ensure the ongoing documentation of technical practices and the development of any requisite
user guides
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a Data Analyst or Data Scientist role, preferably within the Federal
space - Experience with data analysis tools and software (e.g. SQL, Python)
- Familiarity with the principles of database management and script development
- Experience with SQL query engines - Databricks, Snowflake and Redshift
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Cognos, Tableau, Qlik) and techniques
- Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) experience: familiarity with establishing and maintaining data
load processes as well as manipulating and combining various data sources. - Teradata experience: knowledge of Multiloads, BTEQs, and other assorted Teradata procedures will be helpful in the role.
- Familiarity with Defense-based operations and systems would be preferred
- Interim Secret clearance or higher required
- PMP, CDFM, CGFM and/or CPA certifications are a plus
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree from an accredited university
- Candidates will be required to pass a drug screening including THC.
