Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Foreman to lead a team of Equipment Operators in support of ongoing operations in Kismayo, Somalia. This role combines leadership responsibilities with hands-on equipment operation and maintenance coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of Equipment Operators
Operate light, medium, and heavy equipment as needed
Allocate equipment and personnel based on project priorities
Coordinate maintenance and repairs of assigned equipment
Ensure adherence to all safety practices and requirements
Communicate effectively with the client, project staff, and team members
Complete required administrative documentation
Train less experienced workers in equipment operation and care
Perform manual labor and other duties as necessary
Equipment Experience Preferred:
Grader: Maintaining airfields and roads
Excavator: For digging, demolition, hesco removal, and filling
Dozer: For large dirt work projects
Skid Steer: Daily use expected
Forklift: For handling cargo during flight operations
Loader: Various tasks including material handling and dirt work
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED, or equivalent education and experience
Four to seven years of related experience
Job knowledge, skill level, and physical ability required to perform all assigned tasks
U.S. citizenship and eligibility for CAC access
Prior experience in construction, maintenance, and heavy equipment operations in remote or overseas locations is preferred
