SME Senior Cultural Advisor will support the Political section at the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad, Iraq. This Advisor role will provide review and edit of political and other thematic reports from Iraqi Cultural Advisors (ICA); and consolidate the information for final review by the section. Ideal candidate(s) will have strong professional communications, writing and analytical skills in both English and Arabic, in addition to in depth knowledge of Iraq and Middle East government structure, political and key influential players, political and social developments.

SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME) - SENIOR CULTURAL ADVISOR - POLITICAL (AN) Responsibilities Include:

Preparing comprehensive summary by providing a typed, concise, and accurate synopsis of oral or written communications that contains the identity of the speakers or correspondents, and all locations and events mentioned that pertain to the subject of the communication

Oversee, gather, consolidate, and edit reports collected from Iraqi Cultural Advisors daily

Review ICA reports for accuracy to accomplish overall objectives and thoroughness of analyses and reporting

Prepare and present reports and analysis at the operational and strategic levels in conjunction with Political Officers

Independently identify information in the areas of interest and concern to the U.S. Mission in Iraq

Research and provide information on inquiries regarding political section related topics

Develop and maintain solid professional and cultural relationship with the customer and Iraqi

Performs other job-related duties as assigned

SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT (SME) - SENIOR CULTURAL ADVISOR - POLITICAL (AN) Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

Strong background in the following areas: Iraq analysis, Middle East analysis, Political analysis

Must be proficient in utilizing basic computer applications and related automation to support analytical efforts and product development

c. Must possess strong communication skills

Ability to develop Iraqi Cultural Advisors in collection of information, reporting, and building relationships with essential contacts

Complete understanding of Iraq government strategy, channels of influence, key political players, political parties, and political blocs

Complete understanding of Iraq cultural structure, minorities, and religious components

Bachelor's Degree

Minimum of (3) years of reporting experience with the Department of State, Department of Defense, or equivalent Government agency; preferable in Middle Eastern interests

Level 4/4 in English is required

Level 4 /4 in Arabic is required
