Independently execute and support biomarker verification and diagnostic research across BSL-2 to BSL-4 labs. Conduct molecular analyses, including sequencing and immunoassays, while supervising lab operations. Support 3-6 projects annually, contribute to reports, SOPs, and publications, and present findings regularly. Travel and BPRP enrollment may be required per mission needs.
Compensation & Benefits:
Estimated Starting Salary Range for SENIOR BIOMARKER TECHNICAL SUPPORT: $70k- $75k
Pay commensurate with experience.

SENIOR BIOMARKER TECHNICAL SUPPORT Responsibilities Include:
• Develop and execute biomarker verification protocols in BSL-2, BSL-3, and BSL-4 labs in coordination with project Leads/PIs.
• Perform laboratory experiments involving high-consequence pathogens at various biosafety levels.
• Support the planning, preparation, and execution of approximately 3-6 research projects annually.
• Conduct advanced molecular diagnostic techniques, including: Next-generation sequencing (NGS), Nanostring panels (immunological/inflammatory), Luminex-based assays, and miRNA quantification.
• Detect etiologic agents in animal, clinical, and environmental samples.
• Supervise laboratory operations, ensuring safety, functionality, and adequate supply levels.
• Assist with preparation of SOPs, technical reports, and scientific manuscripts.
• Execute novel sample collection and processing techniques, including:
• Nanotrap concentration, DNA/mRNA purification from NHP and human clinical samples.
• Present experimental protocols and data in weekly meetings.
• Submit monthly data and SOPs to the TPOC by the last workday of each month.
• Contribute to quarterly and annual reports for all assigned projects.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed to support diagnostic missions.
• Maintain BPRP (Biological Personnel Reliability Program) enrollment per contract requirements.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
SENIOR BIOMARKER TECHNICAL SUPPORT Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:
• Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or related field required.
• Master's or Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline preferred, especially for advanced protocol development and data interpretation.
• Hands-on experience in high-containment laboratories (BSL-2 to BSL-4).
• Experience in molecular biology techniques, including sequencing and immunoassays.
• Proven experience in supporting or managing multiple concurrent research projects.
• Previous work with infectious disease agents in clinical, animal, or environmental contexts.
• Experience preparing scientific reports and peer-reviewed publications.
• Supervisory experience in laboratory management and compliance preferred.
• Ability to work independently while aligning with collaborative project goals.
• Capable of adapting to high-containment lab protocols and safety procedures.
• Effective multitasking across multiple concurrent projects.
• Able to troubleshoot and optimize complex laboratory assays.
• Willingness and ability to travel CONUS/OCONUS as mission requires.
• Maintain BPRP enrollment and adhere to sensitive personnel reliability standards.
• Must pass the pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
