In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions, Logistics Management Series, 0346.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 (or higher) grade level or equivalent pay systems (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). Examples of specialized experience includes broad knowledge of Life Cycle Logistics (LCL) management principles, planning, programming and maintenance analysis concepts, policies, principles, and practices. Extensive knowledge of the management mission, organization, and work processes of programs throughout a military command, complex multi-mission local installations, or equivalent, and relationships of administrative support activities. Knowledge of CAMS-FM/G081 and various command control information systems.
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-11 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-12 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:Knowledge of a wide range of federal and agency logistics management concepts, principles, practices, planning and programming, procedures, systems and regulations applicable to the full range of Life Cycle Logistics management, sufficient to perform deployment of KC-46 aircraft maintenance procedures/policies, recommendations, planning and operations, and logistics plans under peacetime and wartime conditions. Knowledge of aircraft maintenance basic operating principles, technical order system, and procedures pertaining to engine management. Knowledge of system life cycle concepts and design sufficient to understand and apply KC-46 basic operating principles, technical order system, and procedures pertaining to engine management. Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations of subordinate installations/organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources. Knowledge of, and skill in applying, a comprehensive range of acquisition principles, concepts, and practices to performance difficult and complex assignments concerning KC-46 aircraft propulsion and auxiliary power unit systems. Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

- Provides life cycle, support and logistics management technical advice and guidance. Manages monitors, evaluates, and coordinates, as a weapon systems manager, acquisition logistics planning for aircraft acquisition programs, major aircraft modernization programs, and associated logistics support program acquisitions.
- As a Logistics Management Specialist, advises on the technical aspects of KC-46 aircraft maintenance analysis and scheduling issues.
- Serves at the command level as an aircraft maintenance technical specialist to major command functional managers, units, AFLCMC, and Depot in the maintenance, operation, and training related to complex and sophisticated aircraft systems and equipment. Applies experience in acquisition logistics, develops the operational command logistics inputs and metrics for system requirements/capability documents for use in acquisition programs.
- Prepares and delivers oral presentations such as briefings, training sessions, consultations, and strategy sessions with other staff service functions and activities.

- The work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate driver's license may be required for the position.

- Must be able to obtain and maintain APDP Life Cycle Logistics Level certification.
