A Top Aerospace & Defense Company is seeking a Senior-Level DevSecOps Lead Software Engineer to join our Model-Based Software Team. In this role, you’ll drive innovation and security in mission-critical systems by leading efforts in automation, secure software delivery, and continuous improvement across our engineering environment.
What You’ll Do
Lead the development and maintenance of standardized DevSecOps practices to streamline the software engineering lifecycle.
Drive automation, monitoring, troubleshooting, and improvements across CI/CD pipelines, integration, deployment, and security controls.
Analyze and mitigate security risks, threats, and vulnerabilities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and secure systems.
Implement and stay ahead of emerging DevSecOps tools, frameworks, and compliance standards.
Basic Qualifications
✔️ Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance
✔️ Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Physics, Mathematics, or related technical field
✔️ 5+ years of experience with DevOps and/or DevSecOps
✔️ Experience with Agile software development lifecycle
Preferred Qualifications
✨ 7+ years of DevSecOps/DevOps experience
✨ Deep expertise in the GitLab ecosystem (CI/CD, config mgmt., branching strategies, gated commits)
✨ Hands-on experience with CI/CD best practices, automated builds, test automation, and quality gates
✨ Familiarity with static/dynamic scanning tools (SonarQube, Coverity, etc.)
✨ Programming/Scripting in Linux & Windows (Python, Bash, Shell, Go, JavaScript, TypeScript)
✨ Containerization & orchestration: Docker, Podman, Kubernetes
✨ Cloud environments: AWS + on-prem cloud
✨ Security+ Certification preferred
✨ Knowledge of STIG, SCAP, and software metric automation
