Senior Test Engineer

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Test Engineer to join a Federal Program located in Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities of the Senior Test Engineer include:

• Provide systems engineering expertise throughout the full lifecycle—from concept development to operational deployment—for space-based systems and/or the ground systems and command & control services that support them
• Deliver technical oversight across all phases of development, including design, manufacturing, integration, testing, production, and sustainment, using both traditional acquisition models (e.g., waterfall, spiral) and agile/prototype approaches
• Develop operational concepts, define requirements, and design system architectures; evolve architectural frameworks, perform requirements flow-down analysis, and recommend verification strategies and risk mitigation plans
• Apply model-based systems engineering (MBSE), modeling, simulation, and analytical techniques as needed
• Maintain configuration management of the program's technical baseline
• Lead risk management activities, including identifying, analyzing, and adjudicating program risks; recommend and implement risk reduction strategies

Qualifications for the Senior Test Engineer include:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field, Master's degree preferred
• 9+ years of experience in the following areas:
  • Leading integrated hardware/software or space/ground system development efforts
  • Utilizing model-based systems engineer tools and methodologies
  • Supporting systems architecture and lifecycle management
  • Applying agile development techniques and DevOps processes
• Experience in the National Security Space domain and/or Space Control mission area
• Background in development environments or U.S. Government weapons system program offices
• Professional certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), INCOSE CSEP, ITEA CTEP, or Agile PM/PO
• Must have an active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility

Compensation for the Senior Test Engineer includes:

• Salary Range: $155,000 - $170,000 depending on experience
