Duties
Help
  • Monitors and performs detailed analyses of program progress and utilization of resources.
  • Presents, analyzes and verifies data, techniques, methodologies and formats associated with budget and program development.
  • Manages the development and execution of information technology (IT) acquisition strategies, goals, plans, processes and procedures.
  • Develops acquisition strategies and program baselines for programs/projects, oversees all contracting activities in accordance with DoD acquisition policies and procedures.
  • Conducts pre-implementation evaluations of existing computer systems to determine cost, configuration compliance, performance, adequacy, and assess potential problems.
  • Stays abreast of the state-of-the-art in the mission area by reading technical reports and publications, attending and participating in symposia, and attending relevant technical training classes.
  • Exercises a full range of supervisory authority for subordinate staff.
  • Plans and assigns work to be accomplished, approves leave, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, develops performance objectives, evaluates work performance, provides advice and instructions to employees on both work and administrative matters.
  • Receives and evaluates contractor's deliverables, formulates and coordinates Statements of Work, subtasks, and participates in contractors In Process Reviews.

  • This Defense Acquisition Workforce position requires the incumbent to be Level III certified at time of assignment or able to acquire Level III certification within 24 months of assignment in the DAW career field of Program Management.

Basic Requirements for a SUPERVISOR PROGRAM MANAGER, GS-0340-14:

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes analyzing information technology program resources, reviewing technical requirements for the implementation of product enhancements, assisting with planning acquisition projects, and providing administrative oversight to subordinates. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
