POSITION SUMMARY
The Network and Computer Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, optimization, and lifecycle sustainment of AF TENCAP's multi-level secure information systems and associated hardware, operating systems, and peripherals (HOSP). This role oversees daily operations, manages system upgrades and HOSP maintenance activities, and ensures availability, performance, and compliance of systems across multiple classification levels. Working closely with network, security, and telecommunications teams, the administrator implements solutions, maintains configuration control, and provides technical guidance to leadership. A high degree of autonomy, IT security vigilance, and the ability to adapt to evolving mission priorities are critical to maintaining AF TENCAP's operational readiness.

Rate: $81,000 - $90,000 (final rate based on experience)

POSITION SUMMARY

A high degree of autonomy, IT security vigilance, and the ability to adapt to evolving mission priorities are critical to maintaining AF TENCAP's operational readiness.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Administer Windows, UNIX, and other operating systems across multiple classification levels, ensuring availability, performance, and compliance with AF and DoD standards.
- Provide Level 2 HOSP maintenance, including diagnostics, component replacement, operating system upgrades, and preventive maintenance to sustain mission-ready equipment.
- Coordinate and perform hardware and peripheral upgrades in compliance with lifecycle, accreditation, and security requirements.
- Manage system patching, configuration control, and vulnerability mitigation processes in coordination with cybersecurity teams.
- Oversee user account management, permissions, and access controls to ensure system security and operational integrity.
- Maintain system documentation, configuration baselines, HOSP maintenance logs, and accreditation records in compliance with AFI and RMF requirements.
- Administer and optimize Microsoft Power Platform tools, including PowerBI, PowerAutomate, and PowerApps, and provide training to AF TENCAP users.
- Coordinate with network, telecommunications, and security teams to ensure integrated operations and support for cross-domain and external network connections.
- Educate users on system capabilities, operational best practices, and IT security protocols.
- Manage and safeguard COMSEC material in coordination with the security team, including keying cryptographic equipment and training personnel in COMSEC responsibilities in accordance with DAFMAN 17-1302-0.
- Advise leadership on system performance trends, risk mitigation strategies, and technology upgrade opportunities.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, proactively identifying and resolving issues, implementing process improvements, and adapting to evolving mission and operational needs.
EDUCATION/TRAINING
- High School Diploma.
- Hold and maintain an 8570 IAT II compliant certification (Sec+).
EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years of System Administration experience (May be substituted for bachelor's degree in relevant field and 1 year of relevant experience)
SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Experience with Active Directory, GPO, and virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with DoD system accreditation and patch management processes.
- Experience with VoIP call managers
- Experience with VTC suites
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

- Must have sufficient physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina to complete various tasks.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- This is an Onsite position that requires work to be performed onsite at a customer location.
- Working indoors in an office or home office environment.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Must be able to be cleared for base or site access.
- Must be a US Citizen.
