Responsibilities of the Field Engineer:
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including test plans and procedures.
- Administer RF/tactical communication systems
- Design configurations to support testing and prototyping of emerging systems.
- Develop troubleshooting guides and workaround documentation for system issues.
- Perform testing on systems and subsystems to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Review system specifications, development plans, testing protocols, and network documentation, providing constructive feedback.
- Install and configure servers running Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Set up and manage core services such as DNS, Exchange, and Active Directory.
- Administer and maintain virtualized environments.
- Deploy, monitor, and manage network infrastructure including switches, servers, and firewalls; diagnose and resolve network-related issues.
- Capture system images and deploy them across environments as needed.
Qualifications of the Field Engineer:
- Bachelors degree and 4+ years of experience with network engineering and system testing
- Active Secret clearance is required
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) computer and radio systems
- Working knowledge of routing, switching, protocols, VLANs, IP subnetting, LAN, WAN, etc
- Must possess high proficiency in Linux and Windows
- Must have a high-level understanding of automation and implementation.
- Working knowledge on network security devices (e.g. firewall, NGFW, IPS, IDS)
- Working knowledge on event management systems (e.g. ISE, Splunk, SolarWinds)
- Tactical Data Link familiarity (e.g. CDL, TTNT, L-16, SADL, etc.)
- Live field testing, experience with military communication systems highly desired
- Knowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments is highly desired
- Experience developing scripts in ansible is desired
Compensation of the Field Engineer:
- Total compensation based on experience level - $120,000-$140,000 **based on years of experience**
