Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly qualified and energetic leader for the position of Director of Global Supply Chain Programs 2 (GSC PM). This individual will be responsible and accountable for the planning and execution of the supply chain strategy for all material and services content for the Marine Systems Business Unit. This is an on-site position based at our Sunnyvale, CA facility.

Key responsibilities for this GSC PM include program planning (i.e. developing a procurement plan for subcontracts and material, and aligning Global Supply Chain (GSC) resources to meet that plan), supply chain metrics (i.e. on-time to place, on-time to need), supplier performance (i.e. line of balance, material status, supplier risk/opportunity management), and financial management (i.e. budget, sales forecasting of subcontract milestones and material). The GSC PM will lead teams to ensure the placement and receipt of all material requirements to support the program plan. This position will serve as the main focal point for the Marine Systems Business unit and will be responsible for coordinating cross-functionally to ensure that all supply chain commitments are met, and that appropriate mitigation plans are developed and executed to address any programmatic risks related to suppliers.

The selected candidate will be responsible for the direct supervision of a team of managers and individual contributors and will be expected to:
  • Develop the material strategy and lead the activities for GSC in all phases of the Business Acquisition Process (BAP).
  • Ensure that prior to program execution, all elements of the proposed program(s) plan(s) have complete and accurate schedules, budgets, make/buy plans, and procurement and subcontracts strategies.
  • Lead supply chain Program execution and hold accountability for resource planning, material cost, forecasting, schedule performance, risk/opportunity management, supplier performance, and supply chain issue resolution.
  • Brief the Program Management Office (PMO) and executive management on the status and issues affecting Program cost and schedule performance.
  • Participate in supplier/subcontractor negotiations.
  • Conduct program reviews with the suppliers, subcontractors and program office.
  • Make decisions affecting the performance of the subcontractor.
  • Establish milestone objectives and manages performance to committed schedules and contractual specifications.
  • Ensure subcontractor performs within the established program cost, schedule and quality requirements.


The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Demonstrated success in leading managers and/or professionals to achieve project cost, performance, and schedule requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain trusted relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Strong program management skills with ability to execute initiatives with urgency, accuracy and efficiency.


Basic Qualifications for the Director of Global Supply Chain Programs 2:
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Engineering, Program Management or Operations; OR a Master's Degree with at least 8 years of experience in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Engineering, Program Management or Operations.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience leading diverse teams.
  • Must have business systems experience (SAP) and a demonstrated experience with Material Requirements Planning Systems (MRP).
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time.
  • US Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications for the Director of Global Supply Chain Programs 2:
  • Experience in the aerospace and defense industry, including execution across all lifecycles of a program.
  • Active US Government security clearance.


Primary Level Salary Range: $235,000.00 - $352,600.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
