Northrop Grumman Command Control and Weapons Integration Division (CWI) is seeking a talented Principal/ Sr Principal Quality Analyst to join our team.

Role and Responsibilities:

The Division Quality Analyst helps in the management of the Division Quality Management System and assesses audit plans, internally and externally identified non-conformances, and corrective action plans to help identify trends, root cause drivers and continuous improvement opportunities.

Typical responsibilities include:

Assisting the Division Quality & Mission Assurance Director with the compilation of quality-related metrics, preparation for Division and Sector level PCAB briefings and oversight of Division Principles and Operating Practices (PrOP). Helps ensure division quality performance and delivery of products and services conform to established company and regulatory standards. Acts as Division Quality Management System Representative. Conducts division level audits to ensure conformance to QMS Standards and Sector PrOP. Reviews, analyzes and reports on quality data to help identify trends. Assists in the investigation of non-conformities leading to development of compliant corrective action plans to prevent future recurrence. Interfaces with internal stakeholders to include supplier quality, production, engineering, and global supply chain at all levels within the division and on occasion, sector level representatives. Supports tracking and management of customer-issued Corrective Action Requests across the Defense Systems sector. Assists in the preparation and coordination of externally conducted certification audits like AS9100 and/or ISO9001.

This position's standard work schedule is a 9/80A. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. The preferred working location is Huntsville, AL although proximity to any major Defense System site may be considered along with the possibility for hybrid/telework.

Basic Qualifications:

Principal Quality Analyst
  • This position emphasized skills and experience. Must have 9 or more years of Quality Assurance experience in lieu of degree. Bachelor's degree with 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance or Master degree with 3 years of quality assurance experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 industry standards, 3rd party registrar auditing, and conduct of internal auditing
  • Data mining and analysis: Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics and identifying trends, drawing conclusions, developing recommendations
  • Experience in leading and participating in root cause analysis and corrective action planning
  • Working knowledge of NG PrOP including the development of new and updating of existing procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and lead or interact with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions in a multi-discipline team environment
  • Solid computer skills; capable with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel and Project) Familiarity with creating dashboards in Tableau.
  • Able to communicate and work effectively in a team setting
  • Ability to travel, up to 10%

Sr Principal Quality Analyst
  • This position emphasized skills and experience. Must have 12 or more years of Quality Assurance experience in lieu of degree. Bachelor's degree with 8 years' experience in Quality Assurance or Master degree with 6 years of quality assurance experience.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Clearance
  • Experience with AS9100/ISO9001 industry standards, 3rd party registrar auditing, and conduct of internal auditing
  • Data mining and analysis: Experience developing, collecting, and analyzing metrics and identifying trends, drawing conclusions, developing recommendations
  • Experience in leading and participating in root cause analysis and corrective action planning
  • Working knowledge of NG PrOP including the development of new and updating of existing procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal oversight and lead or interact with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions in a multi-discipline team environment
  • Solid computer skills; capable with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Power Point, Excel and Project) Familiarity with creating dashboards in Tableau.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Formal Training or Certification in Root Cause and Corrective Action methods
  • Formal Training or Certification in AS9100/ISO9001 auditing
  • Formal Training or Certification in Six Sigma or Lean
  • Experience with APQP (AS9145)
  • Experience interacting with DOD customers and DCMA representatives
  • Familiarity with NG Management toolsets like HQMS, QAF, IPRS, PrOP, LX
  • Familiarity with SAP and/or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
  • Familiarity with Material Review Boards (MRB)
  • Familiarity in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings
  • Familiarity in Nonconforming Material Control
  • Familiarity in Quality Inspection or Quality Engineering


Primary Level Salary Range: $78,700.00 - $136,800.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,100.00 - $170,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
