Description
Title: Software Systems Architect
The Work
The Software Systems Architect leads the end-to-end development of a standalone sub-system. This includes overseeing the setup and use of CI/CD DevOps tools, managing technical metrics, and ensuring scalability and resilience in system design. The role requires working from partially complete requirements and partnering with project leadership and analysts to finalize design direction.
Job Location: This is a fully remote position; however, the role is tied to the Washington, DC Metro area due to team requirements. Occasional in-person meetings may be required. An in-person interview will be required, and candidates must reside within 50 miles of the Washington, DC Metro Area to be considered.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is :
$130,037.00 - $221,063.00

What You Will Do:
- Lead the design and development of standalone sub-systems from concept to deployment.
- Collaborate with analysts and project leadership to clarify requirements and finalize design direction.
- Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools to ensure smooth development workflows.
- Monitor system metrics and resolve issues related to scalability, performance, and resilience.
- Communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to clients and stakeholders.
- Mentor junior developers and manage dependencies across teams.
- Conduct estimations, sequence development tasks, and present technical details to leadership.
What You Will Bring With You:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8-11 years of experience in software development and architecture.
- US Citizenship required due to federal contract requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust
- MUST RESIDE IN THE United States (U.S.) and the work MUST BE PERFORMED in the United States (U.S.), as this work is for a federal contract and laws do apply
What We Would Like You To Bring With You: Preferred Qualifications (These are nice to haves)
- Proven experience leading development teams and managing sub-system architecture.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#).
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Familiarity with containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Prior experience in government or enterprise-level projects.
- Certifications in cloud architecture or DevOps (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect).

- Highly effective analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interface effectively at all levels of the business.
- Organized, detailed oriented and able to prioritize and multi-task.
