Position Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, including hard bids, negotiated bids, and design-build initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and market trends, along with strong analytical and communication skills.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Construction Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and reviewing comprehensive cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, including hard bids, negotiated bids, and design-build initiatives. This role requires a deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and market trends, along with strong analytical and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and contracts to identify cost risks and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
- Conduct site visits and stakeholder meetings to validate project scope and estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to ensure estimate accuracy.
- Stay current with construction methods, materials, and industry trends.
- Monitor market conditions including material prices, labor rates, and subcontractor availability.
- Provide expert advice on value engineering, cost-saving strategies, and risk management.
- Maintain estimating databases, spreadsheets, and tools to support the estimating process.
- Participate in bid reviews, scope reviews, and project meetings.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and industry partners.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security clearance (Requires US Citizenship)
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field.
- Active certification: Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) or Certified Cost Estimator (CCE).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in construction estimating.
- Minimum 5 years of experience using estimating software (Excel, RS Means, Timberline, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry trends.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
- High attention to detail and accuracy in estimates.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Active Secret Clearance
- Master's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certifications such as LEED AP or PMP.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and digital construction technologies.
- Familiarity with industry-specific software such as Procore or PlanGrid.
- Experience with large-scale commercial, industrial, or government construction projects.
Candidates must have the ability to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance
