MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Change Manager to join our team in Chantilly, VirginiaThis is a full time office work position with 5 days onsite.

The IT Change and Asset Manager is a central governance role responsible for minimizing risk, maintaining the integrity of the IT environment, and driving continual service improvement. This is accomplished through the ownership and management of robust Change, Configuration, and Asset Management processes. This individual chairs the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and is the ultimate authority for the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). A key aspect of this role is the regular analysis of performance metrics against Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to identify trends and guide process enhancements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Own, manage, and continuously improve the organization's IT Change Management process based on ITIL best practices.
  • Review, validate, and authorize all Requests for Change (RFCs), ensuring they are properly documented with risk assessments, implementation plans, and backout procedures.
  • Chair and facilitate all Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings, Technical Review Board (TRB) meetings, guiding technical leads to a consensus on the approval and scheduling of changes.
  • Serve as the process owner and custodian of the authoritative Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within the ITSM BMC Footprints platform.
  • Define and maintain the CMDB data model, including the identification of Configuration Items (CIs), their attributes, and their relationships. Ensure the Footprints ITSM is properly configured with appropriate naming conventions, and database schemas to allow maximum use of the data within the ITSM.
  • Manage and maintain the definitive IT asset inventory, ensuring all assets are tagged, tracked, and accounted for.
  • Analyze performance metrics and operational data to identify negative trends, recurring issues, process inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Work with the Operations Manager and other team leads to champion, implement, and track the effectiveness of process enhancements.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (Permitted experience exchange: 1 ½ years of experience is equal to 1 year of college.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and implementing change management & configuration management strategies.
  • Strong understanding of change management methodologies and best practices
  • Knowledge of system administration, software deployment, and change management.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and familiarity with ITIL or other service management frameworks
  • Proficient working in a Microsoft Windows environment and using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and impact analyses for proposed changes with the ability to develop and implement Change Management Plans.
  • Any suitable Configuration/Change Management certifications.
  • Ability to effectively communicate Change Plans and impacts to stakeholders. Proficiency in change management tools and systems. Experience with project management methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and address resistance to change.
  • Experience in a configuration management role. ITIL v4 Foundation certification.
  • Experience with configuration management databases (CMDB) and tools.


Clearance Requirements:
  • Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing to obtain a CI Polygraph.


Physical Requirements:
  • The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and or virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations.
